#GivingTuesday is Here!
Answer the S.O.S. and Help Support Our Students!
From The Coastline College Blog:
(Thanks)Giving Tuesday
As of the publication of this blog, Thanksgiving is actually yet to finish, or even begin. So I’ll start by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! But I’d like to jump ahead a week to discuss a very important day in the calendar: GivingTuesday.
GivingTuesday began in 2012, and is in fact spelled as one word (I checked!). According to the GivingTuesday Organization, it started as “a day that encourages people to do good.”
Support Our Students this #GivingTuesday
Sending Out an S.O.S.
Coastline students continue to be affected by the economic impact of COVID-19. Vulnerable students need urgent financial assistance for food, rent, basic necessities, childcare, textbooks, tuition and more. Your donation on #GivingTuesday can help these students stay afloat.
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global philanthropic movement intended to bring individuals and charities together to give back to those in need during the holiday season. On Tuesday, December 1st, Coastline College is participating in #GivingTuesday, and would like to invite alumni, employees and community members to contribute to and support students in need. Rescue a student this #GivingTuesday.
A Message from The President
Make a donation to Coastline College Foundation on December 1st, 2020 to help a student breathe with relief that they can stay on track with school and keep working toward a more secure future.
Be a Lifesaver: Help a Student in Need
Participate in #GivingTuesday by contributing to Coastline College during the holiday season. Every donation goes to making a world of difference to Coastline scholars. Funds generated from #GivingTuesday will benefit Coastline students through scholarships, programs and/or support services.

#LatherUp: Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
#SleeveUp: Roll up your sleeve to get a flu shot.
The more people vaccinated against flu, the more people protected from flu.

College Disrupted – A Pandemic Gap Year Could Cost You $90k
What do you like to put off? Work? Chores? How about college? Because of the pandemic, more and more college-aged kids decided to delay starting their freshman year. There are a lot of reasons for this; some would say that in-person learning, surrounded by like-minded peers in the pursuit of…education? Partying? Both?… is an integral part of the college experience.
Others might say that there’s no substitution for that once-in-a-lifetime feeling of arriving on campus, meeting new friends as a newly minted first year, making those pseudo-Harry Potter dreams come true. But what are the costs of delaying matriculation by a year? Turns out it’s about $90,000 in lifetime earnings, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
